[The Malnosso weren't known for their kindness, and perhaps that's why Ion was returned to the village so far from House One. He was tired and all he wanted to do was curl up somewhere and sleep... which was something he was now very capable of doing seeing as he's been transformed into a

soadoptable. Those little paws of his can only walk so fast, but he manages to make it halfway to House One from the plaza before he has to stop and rest. Finding a nice soft spot of grass to lay in, he curls up and sighs, hoping he doesn't fall asleep before he can make it back home...]

[Of course, assuming he does make it back to House One safe and sound, those living there can expect to hear tiny scratches and meowing at the door... and possibly a few windows if no one hears him.]

[[ooc: ION IS NOW A KITTEN. But he won't be forever! "Green" will turn him back to normal though with a pair of cat ears and a tail because I can, but saying "Ion" will make him go right back to being a kitten. And it won't quite be an instant transformation either, so figuring out what made him change should prove to be a bit difficult. He still has a tiny pair of green wings too, but the longer his identity stays a secret, the more fun it'll be. :'D]]

[ Huh, he has wings. The cats here don't normally have wings, do they? He's seen a couple, maybe, but most of them were wingless. ]

Can you talk?

[ If the answer is no and the kitten can't even understand him he is going to feel mildly embarrassed here. ]

[Ion shakes his head and meows softly. He can't talk, but he wouldn't be able to respond at all if he wasn't capable of understanding what Riku was saying.]

[ ... Well, at least now he doesn't have to feel stupid for talking to it. ]

[ Are you going to let him pet you on the head? He is tentatively reaching out to do so. That's what you do with kittens, right? ]

[At this point, Ion is pretty sure this is exactly who he thinks it is... but how? Was there another experiment going on? Or had he found a way to get back to normal? A shame he can't ask when he's like this...]

[Regardless, Ion is definitely going to let himself be petted. He might even purr a little. D'awww.]

[ D'awww indeed, that's really cute. Not even the most tsuniest of tsuntsuns can resist kittens. ]

Are you new to this place?

[Ion shakes his head, his little wings fluttering. COME ON BRO, DON'T YOU RECOGNIZE ME?]

[...okay, that would be a pretty weird assumption to make.]

[Though after a minute or so of petting, he's going to lay down and rest his chin on his front paws. He's still worn out from his long walk here... it took hours just to get to the village with his little kitten legs!]

[ WELL HE WOULDN'T EXPECT YOU TO TURN INTO A KITTEN OKAY.

Though he kind of gets the idea that the kitten is exhausted. And since it said it wasn't new around here...

Rep takes out his journal. ]

Guess I should ask if anyone is missing a green kitten.

[Oh, but there's no need for that! The moment Riku pulls out his journal, there's a poof of smoke and suddenly that green kitten is gone. In it's place is none other than Ion, who sits up on his knees as soon as he realizes what's happened.]

Ah--! I... I changed back? [That seemed pretty quick for a mallynap effect. Not that he's gonna complain of course!]

[ That poof of smoke has Rep stumbling backwards, and it takes him a good several seconds before he gets his wits about him again.

That. Is no longer a kitten. ]

... Ion--?

[Ion was about to open his mouth and say something when poof! The smoke from before reappears again and that same green kitten is back again.]

[He blinks and looks down at what are more certainly paws before sighing. Just went he thought he was back to normal...!]

[ Wait, whoa, what, what was that. What was all that. ]

You're--... you are Ion, right?

[ SOB HE IS BACK TO TALKING TO A KITTEN. ]

[Ion nods, feeling a little relieved that at least Riku knows who he is now... er, though he'd much rather he find out by Ion actually staying as a human instead of immediately becoming a cat again. But such is life in Luceti.]

[But at least one of them is normal right now, right? He meows up at Riku with the closest thing to a smile he can manage as a cat.]

[ Okaaaay. So Ion is a kitten. A kitten that can change back to being human for, like, three seconds.

...

Well, so much for the return of normalcy. ]

Did the Malnosso do this? [ Because given his own experiences the answer to that isn't necessarily "yes". ]

[He nods quickly. No, people turning into cats is not exactly a normal occurrence for Auldrant.]

[But right now, he's more curious about Riku. He chirps up at him a little before taking a few steps closer, as if trying to look him over from another angle. He's human again! This is a much bigger deal than Ion suddenly being a kitten!]

Huh?

[ What are you doing, Ion. Do you want something? Is that why you're moving closer? What do you want from Repliku. What would a kitten want? ]

Are you... trying to get home? [ IT IS A REASONABLE GUESS ]

[Reasonable and technically correct, yes. Perhaps it would be best to wait to ask him about this when he's more... well, normal.]

[So, after a moment or so, he nods.]

Where's home, anyway?

[ ... ]

If I pick you up, are you going to change back on me?

[Well! To the first question, he takes a few steps in the direction of House one, pointing with his paw.]

[To the second one... er. He's actually not sure what made him change in the first place. So he's going to do the best shrug he can manage as a cat.]

[But come on bro, look how cute and tiny and tired he is. You wouldn't really make him walk, would you? Even if he made this face?]

[ ... ... ... ]

Whatever. [ Scooping you up. JUST DON'T BREAK HIS ARM OR ANYTHING AND THEN ONLY DIGNITY MIGHT BE HURT HERE. ] You said it was this way? [ Setting off in the direction Ion pointed! ]

[BEING SCOOPED UP oh he is never going to get used to that. But he managed not to flail at all, instead only nodding in response to his question.]

[...though he might also start to fall asleep in Rep's arms. Ion is tired and this is warm and comfortable, okay?]

[ Then there will be quiet walking until Rep makes his way somewhat down the path towards house one. Unfortunately there is also a house 2 and 8 in this direction, and 6 and 7 as well if we assume kittens are poor at pointing. Which means Ion, you will need to wake up soon and help him out here.

Hey, at least he resisted the urge to give scritches. That would have just been weird. ]

Alright, which house around here?... Hey, wake up. [ He doesn't exactly want to jostle Ion awake, so he just kind of... gently shakes him. Very gently. ]

[Ion wakes up quickly enough from the shaking, perking his head up with a twitch and a chirp. He blinks a few times, confused, before meowing up at Rep. He was actually having a pretty nice nap, bro, y u gotta wake him up like that?]

Which house? [ Because the moment you start thinking about this even a little bit, there's no way it's not awkward. ]

[He's still a little sleepy, so he says "House One" without really thinking at first. Once it registers that Rep can't understand meows, he perks up his head and points with a paw in the right direction. That way!]

[ Nope, Rep doesn't speak the kitty. But pointing he gets, so we will now be walking right up to House 1! ]
