Tao was always a bit of an odd cat. They first met during a horrible Halloween event in which Ion was eternally trapped in a princess Tutu costume, earning him just about the worst nickname known to man: Tutu-guy. But he could never bring himself to try and stop her from calling him that, since that seemed to be what she preferred. As it turned out, they actually had something in common: when Xion made her call-out to the replicas of Luceti, she was one of the ones who responded.
Not to mention the times she saved him in a pinch, providing him with food when he was starved and wandering the streets as a kitten, and bringing him down when he got stuck in tree (saved by a cat - now how's that for irony?). Despite her eccentricities, she really was a good person.
